My family is going to the beach for spring break and I don't want to spend a lot of time doing my hair and my daughter's hair. Can you recommend any products for african-american hair to keep it curly but not frizzy? Gel, leave in conditioner, conditioner; any suggestions would be great. Thanks!
i feel that my hair will never be the same. When i was a little girl one of my cousins took a hot comb to my head and was pressing my hair down to my skull. i was screaming and hollering, but she wouldn't stop. After she finished i had sores over the entire front of my head. i have lived with this somewhat anger towards her for 40 years. My hairline is very thin. i can't get my hair braided like other women with full hair lines. nor can i wear a ponytail to the back because of how the front of my hair looks. sometimes i just feel like cutting it all off because the front doesn't match the back and the left side is shorter than the right, and it breaks off like crazy. i just need to know after 40 years is there any help left for my head. i have been praying to the lord so long for him to grow my hair, i haven't given up that's why i searching for answers. do you have any?
i am experiencing excrutiating hair lost. My hair is very dry, and weak. i have been using a few products that people have recommended me but still not any result. It gets mostly dry usally after being washed please tell me what do you suggest i should do? i am open to any sugestions.
my hair is long but thinning out due to excessive shedding. when i run my fingers thru my hair, brush, or comb my hair, it literally comes out from the bulb. and sometimes it will shed from the split ends. about a year ago i began using different perms because everytime i would go to purchase what i was using, it would not be available or no longer in stock. one of the perms i used required a step before the actual application of the perm. i accidently skipped the step and the damage began. i stopped perming for about 4 or 5months and when i started perming again i used baby perms. what can i use to prevent shedding, and grow thicker longer hair? i'm taking a hair supplement, benadryl for my allergies, and have been using an organic perm for about 3 months now. i recently purchased some mizani products, and have used them 3 times so far but still need advice. thank you and GOD BLESS!
i have stopped using hair relaxers for 2 months now,and i have been cutting the remaining of the dead hair, little by little. i havent found anyone, that can understand my hair texture, which is very thick, and wavy, but its now very coarse! i have a stress spot, on the middle of my head, which often breaks off. i alternate, by wearing wigs, and would like to continue but after a week, its difficult to keep my hair laying flat, it starts puffing! what can I use to treat it, and wrap it, so it wont be itching, and out of control! i havent found anyone, that understands my hair, but Dominicans, and where i reside, i havent found anyone reputable! please help!
Hi, Reema the first time I used cinnamon oil I wanted something to thicken my hair. My beautician recommended Espiritu de canales which is cinnamon oil in spanish. (thats what it might say on it when you buy it) you can put it on everyday with a q-tip or a cotton round where ever especially on the edges, take your fingers and rub it in your hair, it may burn because it has alcohol in it but if you continue the process you'll see your hair grow back like baby hair especially on the edges. Also put it before you wash your hair. If you just washed your hair wait about a week. Go to category Hair oil/ trial sizes, hair loss and growth Dr. Collado Espiritu de canela.
Im not an expert but, if you really want healthy long hair, the best thing I found that worked for me a women of color was finding someone to do my hair who had the same type of hair or a similar hair texture. For me that were the Dominican hair dressers. I've always gone to them since i was a kid, but sometimes it takes finding that right person who is professional and also has nice hair themselves. First was a healthy diet!! this will make your hair grow with or without the conditioners and leave in treatments. Then there is finding products that worked for my hair. I switch up on shampoos and cinditioners so my hair doesnt get use to one product. Then there was a good deep conditioner, from time to time I also switch up on this. Before I get a relaxer I'll use Nexxus Emergencee which has proteins and amino acids in it, its really good for restoring hair before using a strenuous hair chemical like a relaxer and the effects of a hair blow dryer. Emergencee is best used with Nexxus Therapee shampoo and Humectress conditioner (it has the instructions on it). For a leave in treatment I use Bulbo- Forte its an invigorate that opens the hair pores and promotes hair growth, it also stops the hair from secreting too ,uch sebum (which makes the hair greasy) I use it with a hair lotion like Kuz, Maximus etc. before puting setting rollers. To get back to the point my hair is healthy and growing and I couldn't be happier! My hair is the longest its been in years, It took time, but with the right maintenance its possible for anyone with any hair texture. And also remember for anyone to see their hair grow trimming it every eight weeks is necessary!
Cinnamon oil worked for me, you put it in your hair everyday if you want before you wash it it has alcohol in it so it may burn, but you'll eventually see budding baby hair where your bald spot is.
Im not a hair expert, I go to the Dominicans because they have the closest if not same hair texture anyway my friend had a baby about seven months ago and they recommended that she not wash her hair for about two months because after having a baby you are weak which also means your hair is weak. Also, sometimes your pores maybe open and need to close before putting any chemicals in it.
